Speaker's Bio
Dariia Marchak is a seasoned Ukrainian public-sector leader and reform expert whose career spans senior roles in economic policy, social policy, public administration, and government communications. On 25 July she was appointed Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
From July 2022 to July 2025, Ms. Marchak served as First Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, where she helped shape national approaches to labour policy, social protection, demographic challenges, and wartime social resilience.
Between 2019 and 2022, she held the position of First Deputy Director of the Prozorro.Sale State Enterprise, a key institution responsible for transparent electronic auctions of state and municipal assets. Concurrently, she served—on a pro bono basis—as Head of the Center for Public Finance Analysis at the Kyiv School of Economics, contributing to evidence-based policy and fiscal transparency.
In 2018–2019, Ms. Marchak worked as a consultant to the World Bank, focusing on land reform advocacy and communications within Ukraine’s major land market transformation.
From 2017 to 2019, she served as an advisor to the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers on public administration reform, contributing to systemic improvements in governance processes.
Earlier, she held several high-impact communications and strategic advisory roles within the Ukrainian government. In 2016–2017, she was Director of Communications and Relations with State Authorities at Ukrposhta, the national postal operator. Prior to that, from January 2015 to May 2016, Marchak served as Advisor to Minister of Finance Natalia Yaresko on communications and as Head of Communications at the Ministry of Finance, helping guide public messaging during a critical period of economic stabilization and reform.
